How do animals actively manage their energy and water reserves? What parallels are there to humans?
Kids get to experience and test physical principles in a playful way with a variety of hands-on exhibits: The heavy globe next to the elephant enclosure can be moved as if by magic; the penguin shoots through the water like an arrow; the giraffe’s heart uses a lot of pressure to pump blood; hydropower produces electricity and much more.
The educational trail follows the paths through the zoo. Every so often, Wassily and Elektra put in an appearance. They explain to kids the different ways bears and cheetahs use their energy, for example, or how much energy a bison’s excretions contain.
